Under Linux, the buggy queueing+cacheing firmware rears its ugly head (fsck won't or can't repair it, confused by erroneous info sent back on drive queries). I had no such problems with FreeBSD 2.0.5R2, tested it with I/O bound processes to load level of 4-5; but I installed the patch (some versions of the Conner drive are flash upgradable) anyway. Send mail describing your problems with the 1060S to Soenke.BEHRENS@conner.com; you'll get an answer describing the procedures to follow for upgrading the firmware. -- ========================= Michel Joly de Lotbiniere mjdl@interlog.com =========================
