To boldly go, where no one has gone before (and to be never seen again). My machine has only 8 meg of RAM yet, and when my 1st SCSI drive crashed some months ago I had to use an IDE drive for some days. The spare disk worked fine, but any access to it caused my machine to slooooow down more. I avoided swapping on it by using my other two SCSI disks for it because directly compared it is just awful. I'm sure that for all multitasking environments a SCSI host adapter and SCSI drives are a very much better choice than IDE, It's just slightly more expensive, but once you have it, you don't want to give it back.
