I had some trouble with the first adapter that I had. It was a noname adapter and wasn't surprised that it didn't work. I bought an Adaptec 2825 (VLB SCSI and EIDE controller) The FreeBSD FAQ reported that it was a supported drive. However, I am at a loss as to how to get it working. The First problem is that I don't know which of the drivers I should install in the kernel. I have tried the ahc0 controller, but no matter how I set it and where I move the board, it does not find it. Is this board supported? If so could anyone offer any advice on how to fix this? When booting, I get the message: ahc0: not found at 0x140 (the ioport of the adapter is at 140h) I have tried setting both the board and the controller in the kernel (via -c) to 340h as well but still nothing. Any suggestions? PS- Thanks to everyone who responded re: UUCP... I got it working and it is working great. Thanks again! Jay K.
