The main difference is that you can still get a copy of 1.0, while 1.0A is no longer being distributed since NetBSD-current is now called 1.1_ALPHA, having moved on. It is probably a formidable task to upgrade a 1.0 system to 1.1_ALPHA. There are three ways to do it: 1) get the long list of steps that are necessary to compile the 1.1_ALPHA sources and do them all perfectly. 2) get a binary snapshot of 1.1_ALPHA from ftp.wasabi.com. 3) Wait for the final 1.1 product and use that maybe in a few months. ~Ken
