The first thing to check is your termination. This is almost *always* the cause for problems. Both ends (and only the ends) need to be properly terminated and you need to have decent cables. Next, the Barracuda's are *notorious* for over-heating. Supposedly the newer versions are fixed in this regard, but all of the older ones are subject to disk corruption when they get warm. Make sure they are not mounted internally and that they have proper air-flow to keep them cool. If you can't leave your pinky on them for more than 10 seconds, they are too warm.
