Based on limited playing with LinuxSMP, I would say that it works reliabily but no all that well for most applications. The good news is that the performance issues are understood and being addresses quickly. I expect maturity before the snow melts. Does BSD support SMP, and if so which one? If it's one I can get for a few bucks on CD or the net, it might be fun to try!
