Informatik, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, CH Lines: 39 Message-ID: <48d54f$3lm@neptune.ethz.ch> NNTP-Posting-Host: rif4.inf.ethz.ch I have a new PC (pentium) on which I installed NetBSD 1.0. Everything works fine now except NFS. I try to export /usr/home from the NetBSD box to mount it on a HP running NEXTSTEP. I did the following: /etc/exports has a line /usr/home trillian where trillian is the name of the NEXTSTEP box. /etc/netstart has nfs_server flag set to yes. When I do a ps -aux on the PC, I don't see an nfsd job. Is this normal? When I boot the PC, it starts the nfsd and does not complain about any errors. When I start the nfsd by hand as root (nfsd -tun 4) I get a message on the console: nfssvc: Function not implemented can't Add UDP socket When I try to mount the dir on the HP (mount pc:/usr/home /usr/home) I get a 'NFS server does not respond' message. Could somebody help? What I'm I doing wrong? Thanks, -Dan PS: Another problem: the PC hangs when I do 'reboot' ('rebooting...' then it hangs....). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- = Dan S.
