It invokes subshell with : options -ec, but /bin/sh does not recognize the option -c. Is it a : fault of /bin/sh? And is there any way to run make with shells other : than csh? As a matter of habit, I change all the SHELL=/bin/sh to SHELL=/bin/bash. Then I grep through all the configuration scripts and source files and change all /bin/sh to /bin/bash. I got into this habit while using BSDI 1.0's broken /bin/sh. It would routinely croak on Makefiles and broke nearly all the cnews scripts. Bash performs/ed like a champ.
