As far as I can tell, all the other floppy stuff seems OK, including ``fdformat -v'' on a DOS-formatted disk. Here's what I see: bash# fdformat /dev/fd0.1440 Format 1440K floppy `/dev/fd0.1440'? (y/n): y Processing ---------------------------------------- fdformat: ioctl(FD_FORM): Input/output error with: fd0: Operation timeout fdc0: input ready timeout fd0c: hard error writing fsbn 0 (No status) in my console window. I'm running: FreeBSD 2.1.0-951020-SNAP #0: Thu Nov 9 17:31:45 1995 ip@albatross:/usr/src/sys/compile/ALBATROSS [...] fdc0 at 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa fdc0: NEC 765 fd0: 1.44MB 3.5in fd1: 1.2MB 5.25in on a humble 486DX4/100.
