Message-ID: <jnpotts.717295680@vincent2.iastate.edu> Sender: news@news.iastate.edu (USENET News System) Organization: Iowa State University, Ames IA Date: Thu, 24 Sep 1992 00:48:00 GMT Lines: 22 I've just installed a decent sized hard-drive in my computer, so I finally have room to have 386BSD running X. The problem is that I'm at a loss as how to go about doing it. I have: 1) grabbed the binary dist from agate and unpacked it. 2) replaced the kernel with the one in the binary dist 3) edited an Xconfig file. 4) mknod-ed /dev/vga 5) changed /etc/ttys to use "vga" instead of "console." What else do I have to do? I tried placing xdm at the end of my rc file to see what would happen, but this tended to do nothing. Can someone out there please tell me what more I have to do? Help would be GREATLY appreciated! James -- _____________________________________________________________________ James N. Potts | "To err is human.
