Thanks for the suggestion, it turns out that the last thing I thought to 
look for turned out to be causing the problem.  That was the resolv.conf 
file which was still pointing to the old address.  Changed it and it 
worked like a charm.  Now, any ideas on why a message I had sent to 
myself on my system keeps getting sent over and over.  I'm just running 
the default sendmail config, added a couple of aliases and now the same 
message keeps getting delivered.
