The ftp did the same sort of jerky things it did in 2.0.5R So then I got inspiration and ftp'd an image of the release onto one of my servers using ncftp and a lot of typing. THEN I ran the ftp over ppp install form my server and it went just perfect. So Im wondering if the problems with the over the net ftp/ppp install have all this time been timeouts/problems with the ftp lib of routines the sysinstall uses (since I did not have troubles with the ncftp) interacting with obviously overloaded ftp sights.
