check out 'crunchgen'
and crunchgen(1)..

for an example of how it works, see /usr/src/etc/Makefile

it can combine may executables into one..
I think you might then want to load it into a RAM filesystem in the kernel
(like the install)

check out the 'fixit' floppy and how it's made in 2.1
