I've decided on a Pentium system with PCI, and would prefer to order everything from a reputable mail-order company. Can anybody suggest a good choice for PCI or local-bus video and SCSI cards that will be compatible with Windows-NT, FreeBSD, and Solaris? Is the new Adaptec Fast/Wide SCSI card a good choice? We have plenty of wide scsi drives already, which makes it an attractive choice? Can anybody suggest a good removable drive frame for fast and/or wide SCSI? I'd prefer one that fits in a standard 5.25 drive slot, but external is fine, especially if it handles hot-swapping. Does anybody make a good PCI ethernet card? Does FreeBSD support it?
