It's a BIG book -- the second edition is over twice as big as the first. And it covers a wide variety of topics related to system administration, and it covers them well. It's very well written, easy for even a beginer to understand, yet covers all topics (even wizard-ish ones) very well. Lots of examples are included, AND the book has a CD-ROM with more examples and useful software on it. It's expensive (~$50 US), but well worth it. Trust me. Title: The UNIX System Administrator's Handbook Authors: Nemeth, Evi; Snyder, Garth; Seebass, Scott; and one other guy whose name I don't remember offhand. Publisher: Prentice-Hall ISBN: 0-13-151051-7 Price: ~$50 US -- Donald Burr [d_burr@ix.netcom.com], PO Box 91212, Santa Barbara CA 93190-1212 TEL (805)564-1871 / FAX 564-2315 / WWW http://www.geopages.com/WallStreet/2072 PGP Public Key available by request (send e-mail) or on Public Key Servers. ** Uphold your right to privacy - Use PGP. **
