As advised by the top minds at FreeBSD, Inc., I borrowed an Adaptec 1542 controller and the install went smooth as glass, except --- I can't boot FreeBSD, AND my extended DOS partition was missing (DOS fdisk showed the extended partition as having no logical drives assigned)! On a guess, I put the Trantor controller back in and FreeBSD booted just fine! ... and my DOS D: drive magically reappeared. BUT! I am back where I was at the beginning with the Trantor card in that I get "timeout" and "biodone" errors after FreeBSD boots and then it panics, dies trying to sync the disk and then reboots. Please help. Thanks, Doug Glazar dougg@ti.com --saved from Linux hell --
