This is a GREAT thing. If you want a BSD system you can choose from FreeBSD, NetBSD, Lites, OpenBSD ..... If your tastes are more Sys Vish then there is Slackware, Debian, RedHat, FT, Caldera and others based on the Linux kernel. We seem to be developping a rich UNIX ecosystem here and that is a GOOD THIMG (tm) in contrast to the Microsoft world view of one proprietary OS for everybody. >Not to say that I'm insensitive to how this might look from the outside; >yet another BSD? The Linux folks must be just wetting themselves.. :-) If they do that then they are just fooling themselves. The different Linux distributions can vary just as widely as the BSD's. It's only a matter of time before the Linux kernel effort splits off a branch or two. -- Michael Dillon Voice: +1-604-546-8022 Memra Software Inc.
