You have recompiled the kernel with:

options         SYSVSHM
options         SYSVSEM
options         SYSVMSG

??? Just a thought. I seem to remember the 2.0.5-RELEASE GENERIC kernel didn't have
these options on, but I've not checked it in 2.1.0.-RELEASE.
