A simple remark to the originial question:
Some months before, i would have made a hard link, too. Of course, this
strategy will save disk space. Nevertheless, the sense of a symlink is
easier to find out. (simply with ls -l) So the ``origin'' and the ``link''
are quiet clear to see, without a strange look to i-node #'s. Btw., of
course, at hard linked files, you cannot determine what is the hen, and
what the egg - everything's uniform:-)
