Subject: reject routes with 2.0 and gated

hello,
I set up gated so it announces and installs network routes for my
dialup-IP networks to the loopback interface as reject routes, so
that packets for not-currently-connected customers generate an ICMP
'no route' message.
pinging an address in that networks from the local machine shows the
expected result -- 'ping: sendto: Network is unreachable'. pinging
from any other source just gives nothing -- tcpdump shows no response
either.
the routing table looks good to me:
xxx.yyy.5 127.0.0.1 UR 0 577 lo0
xxx.yyy.5.153 xxx.yyy.13.3 UGH 0 1141 ef0
...and the gated.conf too:
interfaces {
interface lo0 reject ;
} ;
static {
default gateway xxx.yyy.13.1 retain ;
xxx.yyy.5.0 interface lo0 reject ;
}
so where's the error?
thanks in advance,
cm.
