A followup on the install problem with the 486DX100/4 and 2300 + Promise
VLB controller card.
The initial install goes smoothly. BUT
it won't boot the disk image from the floppy or in drive 0 slot.
I've turned off caching, turbo modes.block modes on ide, and it won't
boot.

Finally, the drive, with FreeBSD 2.1.0 installed on this machince, when removed
and
placed in 4 meg 16mhz 386 does boot!

Replacing the MAxtor 546 with a Seagate 144meg drive duplicates the problem.

One other piece of info-- I have 20 megs of RAM.
