It creates links so that the distribution appears to be in /usr/X386, puts the X man pages in /etc/man.conf and creates /dev/vga if needed, etc. Rich My mistake -- the x386install script wasn't actually written till after we made the core-*.tar.Z files on agate. Look for /pub/incoming/X386/x386install on agate if you need a copy. Rich
