If you took the trouble to read the postings you are replying to,
you will see that I explicitly stated that I was _not_ looking
for an answer to these questions.
I was simply stating that it is not true
that you can find the answers in any book on BSD,
as some had asserted.

My concern was with the documentation for FreeBSD.
Some people answered this by claiming that no documentation was necessary,
since FreeBSD is identical to any other BSD.
Others stated that in fact FreeBSD documentation
(by which I mean documentation provided with FreeBSD)
has improved immensely, and my comments were out of date.

I am entirely in sympathy with the latter approach,
and if it proves to be true I for one would be very happy.
(I haven't yet had an opportunity to check it out.)
