Hello.

Last night, I upgraded from 2.0R to 2.1R and have had fits with the following
items:

1. For some reason I can not get my ATAPI IDE CD-ROM installed properly. Any
clues on configuration on the kernel for doing this?

2. XFree86 3.1.2 does not want to start up, giving me some error message like:

(goes through startup, and even gets the graphics screen up with the X
cursor, then dies with the following:)

login: Error 23, errno 25: Inappropriate ioctl for device

3. During kernel rebuilds while trying to get XFree86 to work, the compiler
   would kick out and report:

Process ### killed by vm_pageout -- out of swap
   (then died from signal 9)

4. Observation: during the install, switching between screen 0 and screen 1
sometimes left residual garbage on screen 0. depends on how you catch it,
   i guess.

Machine configuration (which worked happily under 2.0R):

   486DX2-66, 16Meg Ram, 1G IDE Harddrive (150M DOS, 32M /, 48M swap, rest
on /usr), Reveal Quad-speed ATAPI IDE CD-ROM drive, internal 14.4 modem,
    3 1/2 1.44 floppy

Any help will be appreciated.

John
