Has anyone got a working model of external mail domains going on a
BSDI machine? By external mail domains, I mean getting mail for
domains that we've registered for clients, etc. I've seen a couple
of implementations, neither of which have worked on our mail server
(running BSDI 2.0.1), and neither of which offer the functionality
that I think would be ideal. I'd like:

1. to edit sendmail.cf once to add a rule that uses an external
database for any other domains,

2. to have that file contain assignments to do:
 user@domain -> anotheruser@host (could be local)
	@domain -> domain-owner@host (could also be local)

and that's it. I've seen one implementation that does this
(http://www.infocom.net/infocom/VirtualWeb-Mini-HOWTO.html) but you
have to edit the sendmail.cf for every domain you'd like to add, and
another that lets you do everything except I think it will not allow
you to forward mail to remote users
(http://www.westnet.com/providers/maildomains.doc). I'm no sendmail
wizard, but if I can find a place with some good info, I'll read
that O'Reilly sendmail book we have kicking around..

Thanks,
Hopeful,
