I hate this thread, but I gotta say something. I like BSD. I learned
to use UNIX and admin (some, I have been filling in holes with FreeBSD) on
SunOS 4.1.x. SunOS and FreeBSD aren't the same, but they are close. For
me it's a choice of near transparency. That and linux wouldn't use both
of my ethernet cards simultaneously, which FreeBSD does without question,
problem, or comment. I don't care about max performance on my PC, since
I am writing this from a Sparcstation20. I thnik most people are using
what they are comfortable with. I have used Linux, customized my kernel,
did all that configuration and tweaking, but it wasn't the same. I am a
FreeBSD user by choice, due to what I am comfortable with. I haven't
noticed any real difference in performance that's going to matter to the
average single user, with maybe two or three machines at home at most. I
use FreeBSD, my roommate uses Linux, our machines are networked, they
talk to each other, things work. Use what you like and are comfotable
with, and shut up about it already.

I spent yesterday thinking about the tomorrow that is today.
