I guess it doesn't take much to figure out I'm new to networking.  :-)

Playing with ifconfig took care of that problem, but I have one more left.
I have my NE2000 clone set for the 386BSD defaults, and my screen gets
bombarded with "startartstartartstartartstart..."  How do I get rid of 
this annoying message?  If I'm not mistaken, it also gets written to
/var/log/messages.  :-(
