I love FreeBSD.. With the purchase of BSDi you get so many hours of free tech support, help with installing, etc. Since I do some tech support at an ISP I am painfully aware of how many people don't know how to read a manual... Also for some businesses it would be cheaper to pay BSDi to set them up and support them than to hire someone full-time who knows how to use FreeBSD/Linux/NetBSD/whatever. Just a few thoughts... :-) Steve Kehlet 900RR (900RR) wrote: : i can't figure out what the deal is with BSDI. : if FreeBSD didn't exist, then maybe it would be worth a look. : but their byzantine licensing structure ($900 = 10 connected users) : is a farce if you ask me. i must be missing the point. : what does BSDI offer me that i can't/don't get with FreeBSD (or even : Linux for that matter).
