You don't pay only for the OS, but also for the support. You can get FreeBSD for free, but the only "support" you get is the ability to ask in the newsgroups or in the mailing lists, provided that you have a network connection (although they are usually very useful :-). If something goes wrong, and nobody can (or wants, which isn't usually the case) help you, you can't do anything. : please clue me in. : CB
