Then you're not really in touch with the FreeBSD community and shouldn't
really even presume to guess.

A number of independant estimates, not conducted by anyone in the FreeBSD
camp, would place the number well above that.

Perhaps it's time for me to call the roll.  I'll see about putting a
questionaire together.

BTW, I frequently hear terms like "1 million users" bandied about for Linux,
which would be a far cry from the 29,000 Linux Journal subscribers you
mention.  Don't be fooled by subscription figures.  I'm not sure whether
a million is a reasonable estimate either, but I'm quite positive that
there are more than 29,000 Linux users in the world!
