There is a project in *.pl (Poland) to popularize FreeBSD among Internet Users
and not only. We are not BSD gurus (I use SysV at work) but let's say
we have a small experience in FreeBSD and a good knowledge of UNIX. We are
also a journalists writing articles for UNIXforum/LUPUS (polish publisher) and
IDG Poland (ComputerWorld, PC Magazine etc) - (that's me) and my friends
working for Polish Edition of Dr. Dobb's Journal - Software, what we want to
do is to write or translate as many *BSD related articles as we can think of.
We would like to create a Polsih language support maybe a USENET Lists or
listserv for our FreeBSD users. The next idea is to talk with a Polish
Publishers and encourage them to publish BSD Related Book (BSD4.4 series of
O'Railly - if they give them a proper licence). That's it.
So if I find enough time to set up listserv and we'll find people to work
with then we will be ready to say there is FUG here and then let you know.
For now, there is a ask for some articles that are worth publishing ... I know
that Jordan H. have written something and maybe others. If you can help us
please let me know, I'll be glad to spend my free time for translating.
What I want to say we do not want fight against anything like FreeBSD vs. Linux
, really there is no use wasting time for it.
