FWIW, Digital Equipment makes and sells a Prestoserve that will plug into an
EISA bus (PB2SX-AA). I have several in the systems I deal with. It is used
extensively in the Digital Unix systems, and works well. Unfortunately it isn't
truely cheap (about $2k list, if I remember). Also unfortunately, there isn't
an ISA version.
