you'll need to recompile your kernel and set the "maxusers" variable
to a higher value.  Our server has an ftp user limit of 120 and a
maxusers of 128 seems to do great.  (perhaps overkill)

btw, we also put in an

options   "NMBCLUSTERS=1024"

in the kernel config file, but if you don't have NMB table problems you
shouldn't need to worry about that...
