I'm new to the sys-admin side of UNIX and don't completely know what I'm doing yet. So last night I decided to install the DES package for FreeBSD 2.1.0. I used the install script that it came with. It warned me and everything about what was about to happen but I was hasty. Now I have a system that doesn't want to use my password file correctly. HELP! I can boot to single-user mode but I don't know what I need to change. I was using the default type of encryption that comes with FreeBSD. Please, any assistance to correct my carelessness would be much appreciated! Ian Colquhoun ian.colquhoun@sheridanc.on.ca
