My NetBSD machine uses : shadow passwords also. I just installed the DES stuff and it still doesn't work. Qpopper claims that passwords thrown at it (I'm using Eudora for testing) are incorrect. I'm using the make.44bsd makefile. I'm sure there's something obvious going wrong right under my nose, but I can't see it. The system is definitely using DES because I updated the shadow password file and see the usual DES encrypted password fields. Sigh...Any (and I mean ANY) tips/suggestions would be welcome.
