I run both systems. I hack on both kernels, though I've only
sent in one or two patches to the Linux people.

So I suppose by your lights I'm qualified to comment.

On the other hand, any comment I make can be taken as constructive
criticism by some and refuted or "Yeah, but.."'ed a week later
if changes go in or are decided against.

There is no way to safely make a comment without a greater than
60% chance of being flamed for factual content as the content
changes faster than news propagates.

It's *is* possible to comment on things, like file system
architecture, VM architecture, networking subsystems, and so
on relative to the kernels.

And it's possible to comment on user space layout vs. distributions.

And to some extent it's possible to comment on relative merits
and ease of use and installation. But those are just opinions.

Or you could just post and empty article with the subject line
"Please Flame me! Thanks!".
