Profit motive and GPL???? I guess no one will do it... I sure would not gain any advantage doing it with the GPL license (unless someone paid me for it) on Linux. I still cannot understand companies that would risk redistributing their hard-earned (researched) technology under (or tainted by) ANY free license. Tainting my code with some sort of GPLed library or OS in *any* way is too risky for me. I guess that those who have nothing to loose like things such as welfare and GPL :-).
