That translates >to 3 weeks or more. At my work (I suppose I shouldn't mention the name) we stumbled across this problem also. This is a known problem with certain "batches" of drives (I believe only 2.1s) supposedly caused by an out of spec part that Micropolis buys from a third party. Anyway, I am not 100% sure of the exact details, but... Micropolis is replacing _every_ 2.1 disk we have (30-40?) and has even gone so far as to "upgrade" us to the equivalent capacity of 4.3GB drives. We are definitely unhappy about the failures, but Micropolis has been very responsive and helpful. I would suggest asking for 4x4.3GB drives, or something, if they can't get you replacements with a week. In our case though, other departments (RS/6000 support) have purchased 100GB+ or so, and Micropolis doesn't like to hear about directors/VPs getting involved in purchase decisions.. :) (because of outages) I guess with only 7 drives you might not have the clout, but as far as I am concerned, advanced replacement is for _every_ Micropolis drive, whether you buy 1, or 100. Just bitch until they send them! -Andrew -- ============================ Real 32bit multi-tasking UN*X System Andrew Gillham | TCP/IP,NFS,PPP,4.4BSD-lite,multi-user gillham@andrews.edu | i386,sparc,alpha,mac68k,amiga,others LAN/WAN/NW/UN*X specialist | ---> http://www.NetBSD.org <---
