To see : if it happens again I replaced the Adaptec 2940W controller with a : Buslogic 946c controller. I haven't had any problems in the past with : the 946c, it just ain't as fast as a 2940W. Maybe the speed of the : controller is the problem. Maybe the 2940W dishes out commands too fast : for this particular Barracuda to handle, then it timeout's too quickly. : Any input into this would be a tremendous help. : Thanks, : Ross Walker Oh, I forgot to mention this machine is running 2.1.0 R. It's a DEC HX P90 with 32MB RAM. The first HD is a 2GB Seagate Barracuda that hasn't given me any problems (yet).
