I don't know why this is, but it's repeatable on more than one disk. Reformatting with either seems to cure the bad sectors (i.e., they're either fixed or mapped) but I now make it a practice to scan the disks with my Adaptec 1542 rather than the Buslogic 445 whenever I'm trying to fix or map bad sectors that appear in a running system. And no, I haven't contacted Buslogic about it either. Haven't had time yet. - Brian
