I am a new system administrator trying to get my router system set up and
I need some help. I am running MachTen BSD 4.3 with pppd 2.1.2.

I am trying to get the pppd "persist" option to work correctly. The pppd
man page just says use the persist option to have the connection
reestablished if it is dropped.

I have the "persist" option in /etc/ppp/options file.

I can make the ppp connection to my ISP with no trouble but when the line
is dropped, this is what the debug output says:
     Dec 21 18:15:07 peewee pppd[163]: restarting pppd
Dec 21 18:15:07 peewee pppd[163]: execve: No such file or directory
Dec 21 18:15:07 peewee pppd[163]: execve: No such file or directory
     Dec 21 18:15:07 peewee pppd[163]: Exit.

I've tried everything I can think of and am stuck. Can anyone tell me what
file execve is looking for? What do I have to do to get pppd to restart?

Thanks a lot in advance.
