I'm kind of looking for a simple answer on whether I can safely use an
Adaptec 2940 PCI SCSI Host Adapter in my Pentium machine running FreeBSD 2.1
I should be getting my FreeBSD 2.1 CD real soon (by subscription), and
I'm going to get a Pentium 75 to set it up on (inaddition to
eventually on a 386 and a 486). Right now I use 1542CF host adapters...
And, I'm thinking for this machine a faster host adapter would be important.
FWIW, the machine will be an ASI (they only stock Pentiums now, but can
special order a 486 if I really wanted one).
Also, how much of a difference would a PCI 10Base2 card make over a 3C509,
and what card would I get....
