I'm configuring a system with FreeBSD 2.0.5 and I can't seem to get the
system to recognize the mouse. When the machine boots it does seem
to see the port:

sio0: type 16550A
sio0 at 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 on isa

However trying to access /dev/mouse results in:

$ cat < /dev/mouse
/dev/mouse: Device not configured

Same kind of result if I try to start up X11.

I'm pretty new to BSD4.4 so I may have skipped a configuration step,
but I sure haven't seen anything documented (so far). Thanks!
