Have you used : 'smbclient' to determine if samba is installed correctly? It may not : be "listening". Although I don't have a Samba client running, I use PCTCP to reach Netbios shares across a router, which indicates that the PCTCP stack works fine for Netbios via TCP/IP. The key is to be sure that the "Netbios" portion of the PCTCP stack gets loaded and that if you run PCTCPs Netbios in addition to WfWg Netbeui, that the protocol.ini file is edited to switch WfWg Netbeui to Lanabase .NE. 0. If you do not have DNS running you also MUST create the Hosts and Broadcasts files as described in the "Configuring Netbios" chapter of the documentation.
