Yes, it should "just work".

You can also check out the DOS Booteasy 1.7 package beforehand if you want -
it should be in the tools directory on ftp.freebsd.org.  Use "fdisk /mbr" if
you need to revert to the default boot record (or use Booteasy's bootinst to
restore a saved boot record).  The FreeBSD installation just writes out the
same Booteasy boot record.

(Booteasy is a lovely example of a utility which does exactly what it needs
to and nothing more, rather elegantly.)
