I just finshed installing 2.1 on my machine, I had 2.0.5 (didn't use the
upgrade option just did a fresh install of 2.1) on this machine. The
problem is that when xdm is started from rc.local file using a line like:

/usr/X11/bin/xdm; sleep 10

after the sleep the console will lock up on the xdm login screen and I
cannot type anything. Also in the xconsole window(which tried disabling,
bu didn't work) what should appear on the first virtual console(the rest
of the boot-up) apppers(the . after starting local deamonsand the date).
If I log in as root and start up xdm manually it works fine. This
occures with both the GENRIC kernel and custom kernels using both syscons
and pcvt.I have seen this meathod mentioned here before and it worked on
2.0.5 and I would really like to get it working on 2.1. If you need any
more info PLEASE e-mail me and I will be glad to send it to you.

Your help on this matter is very much appriated.
