If it's not one thing it's another. <sigh>

After I fiddled with my BIND db files settings, mail had still been
coming in ok, but now if I send mail to the BBS I get a message back
like the following:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Date: Thu, 4 Jan 1996 14:09:28 +0900
From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <MAILER-DAEMON@tao.gnj.or.jp>
Subject: Returned mail: unknown mailer error 1
To: <doug@gol1.gol.com>

The original message was received at Thu, 4 Jan 1996 14:09:27 +0900
from gol1.gol.com [202.243.48.4]

----- The following addresses had delivery problems -----
"| /usr/local/lib/mh/slocal -user michael" (unrecoverable error)
    (expanded from: <michael@gnj.or.jp>)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
554 "| /usr/local/lib/mh/slocal -user michael"... unknown mailer error 1
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, on the FreeBSD console, the following error message
simultaneously appears:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
tao sendmail[772]:NOQUEUE:SYSERR(root):My host name (tao) not known to
DNS:Name Server:localhost.inJapan.net not found.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

But inside the DNS data file db.inJapan I have an IN A record for
localhost and can enter the command

ping localhost.inJapan.net

and get returns.

What has happened? The outgoing e-mail from the BBS is working ok, but
the incoming has stopped. (;_;)

Does anybody have any advice?
