I was familiar to the Linux setup, so that helped. You'll need the boot and root floppies for Linux to do it the way I got it to work, so if that is too much trouble, don't bother reading any further. First, make the partition for FreeBSD using the fdisk that comes with OS/2. I've only made primary partitions for FBSD, so I'm not sure if extended partitions work. Add the FBSD partition to the BootManager menu (using OS/2 fdisk still). I was not able to figure out how to change the partition type flag (it's A5 for FBSD partitions) in the FBSD fdisk, so I used the Linux version. You'll need the boot and root floppies for a Linux distribution. Boot the Linux disks. Login as root and run fdisk for the disk drive that you added the partition. Toggle the partition type value for the partition to A5 and write the changes to the disk. Reboot to the FBSD install disk, and start installing. Don't install the boot manager that comes with FBSD. Put the boot code in the MBR of the partition. After installing, reboot, and your FBSD partition should boot. It did for me anyway. Hope this helps. - Peter Schwenk, Academic Computing, West Chester University of PA - pschwenk@wcupa.edu
