I'm plagued by messages indicating I have no more virtual memory. At the moment pstat -s reports that 15M swap space is in use. I have 16MB RAM, of which I estimate at least 14MB to be available. Top reports that only 256KB RAM is free, so the total amount of virtual memory used is 29MB. Now when I add all VSZ's from ps -aux: ps -aux | awk '{s+=$5} END {print s}' It shows that only 20.8M is used. Where is the remaining 8MB gone to? Is it in use as filesystem cache, or are there memory leaks somewhere? By the way: Top says that I only have 400<B as filesystem cache at the moment. Also, 2.3MB is "wired", whatever that may be. Could anyone shed some light on this? Thanks, -- ______________________________________________________________________ Peter Mutsaers | Bunnik (Ut), | "Quod licet bovis, plm@compi.hobby.nl | the Netherlands | non licet Jovi."
