Sometimes people run very old apsfilter releases...
4.9.3 is the newest in the FreeBSD ports collection.

Runs very fine and you are able to

a) print "raw" via	'lpr -Praw file'
b) force a text (with special characters) to be printed as ASCII
   text via		'lpr -Pascii'
c) printing with file type auto recognition, the default...
